Methodology Workshop "Interfaith dialogue in India"

Sarva Dharma Samvaad conducted a one day Methodology Workshop in collaboration with KAICIID on its first publication titled " Interfaith Dialogue in India " on 11 th October 2015 in Delhi. Approximately 25 interfaith practitioners, academicians and experts were present in the workshop.

Inaugural session: The workshop started with a welcome address by Mr. Manu Singh, Chairperson of Sarva Dharma Samvaad.He briefly introduced the themeof the workshop. Mr. Manu introduced KAICIID and SDS and invited Prof. J.S Rajput, Former Director of N.C.E.R.T to chair all the three sessions.

Workshop on Ethical and Moral values

On January 14th 2015, Sarva Dharma Samvaad (SDS) organized a workshop on ‘The education of ethical and moral values, such as forgiveness and respect. Approximately, 40 participants in the programme, who all were young adults ranging from 18 years to 26 years of age. The programme was organized in Defence Colony, Delhi.

The workshop was followed by a self-defence camp of which, the main beneficiaries were female adults. They were trained in different techniques for self- defence.

Influencing Stakeholders: Advocacy Workshop For Interfaith Practitioners

Sarva Dharma Samvaad (SDS) is a civil society organisation which encourages interfaith dialogue among youth inter-faith practitioner. Its objective is to promote religious tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful co-existence. Keeping in view this objective, SDS in collaboration with KAICIID (King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue) organised twodays workshop on- "Influencing Stakeholder: Advocacy Workshop for Interfaith Practitioner", which was conducted on 19th and 20th June 2016 at The Umrao Hotel, New Delhi.

Sarva Dharma Samvaad aims to change the concept of the current IFD in India by promoting not only tolerance but inculcating respect and celebration of the otherness especially among the youth of this great nation and culture. Through its trainings and youth retreats Sarva Dharma Samvaad has been successful in promoting dialogical living in the midst of several interfaith youth practitioners and interreligious participants.

Social Media and Communications Training for Interreligious Dialogue Practitioners

KAICIID in collaboration with SDS, organised a four-day training program from 22-25th November 2014 at the Eros Hotel, Nehru Place New Delhi on “Speak Up: Social Media and Communications Training for Interreligious Dialogue Practitioners”.

Media Training: Empowering Responsible Youth Interfaith Practitioners in the Digital Age

The workshop was held from 9-10th April, 2016 at The Umrao Hotel, New Delhi by Sarva Dharma Samvaad (SDS). All the participants and the Trainers stayed in the same Hotel to facilitate better interaction and better understanding among each other.

Social Media and Communications Training for Youth Interfaith Dialogue Practitioners

The Workshop was organized at The Umrao Hotel, New Delhi from 11th to 12th April. The two-day training was in succession to two-day training on “Media Training: Empowering Responsible Youth Interfaith Practitioners in the Digital Age“ held on 9th and 10th.

    Sarva Dharma Samvad (SDS) collaborated with the team from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and organized a unique theatrical and poetic presentation with Dr. Rama Mani of the Oxford University, under the name of Vasudeva Kutumbakam or One World Family, in which the message of unity in diversity was spread.

    SDS organized an Eid Milan at Safderjung Enclave, which was attended by a galaxy of socio spiritual leaders, namely, Shankaracharya Swami Omkaranand Saraswati (shankracharya, Pragya Peeth, Delhi), Swami Agnivesh (President, World Council of Arya Samaj), Sabaan Ali (President, Educational Endowment Trust) and many more.

    As part of its mission to promote peaceful coexistence, in cooperation with KAICIID, Sarva Dharma Samvaad had conducted a one-day public event on-“media representations of religion, as well as training initiatives including the “Speak Up” training, in India Habitat Centre.

Countering these challenges and the threat they pose to living and non-living beings around the world call for the use of a wide range of approaches to promote tolerance and reconciliation, respect for cultural diversity and freedom of belief, thought and expression.
